Northern Quebec first participated in 1972 and hosted the Games in Schefferville in 1976. Four contingents, Alaska, Northwest Territories, Northern Quebec and Yukon participated in 13 sports, badminton, basketball, cross country skiing, curling, figure skating, hockey, Inuit Games, judo, shooting, snowshoeing, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling.
